An official source of public information

The Delta State Independent Electoral Commission (DSIEC) needed an official channel for information about the Commission and local government elections in Delta State, Nigeria. Its needs extended beyond launching a website to maintaining public information and supporting communications across successive election cycles.

A website maintained across election cycles

We designed and managed the official website, keeping Commission information, election notices, polling-unit information and downloadable resources organized as publishing needs changed. Our work covered:

  • Publishing and maintenance: official domain registration, website design, content updates, election guidelines, timetables and reports.
  • Security and continuity: website security, encrypted connections through SSL and automated cloud backups.
  • Online visibility: Search Engine Optimization (SEO), social media marketing and Google Business Profile management.

Voter education and SMS communications

We ran digital voter-education campaigns, including advertising and video demonstrations of the voting process. These supported the Commission’s public-information activities.

We also built an SMS messaging system to support communications with ad hoc staff and registered voters, alongside the Commission’s staff-training and voter-education activities.

Technology advice beyond the website

The Commission regularly consulted InterPro IT Consultants on technology recommendations and operational decisions. We advised on equipment selection and an approach to producing voter registers in-house using an electronic copy obtained from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Voter-verification development

We developed an online voter-verification system, but its production launch was deferred. Deployment depended on access to INEC’s voter-register data through an approved connection that was not available at the time.

A decade of practical support

The engagement gave the Commission a maintained official channel for election information, tools for staff and voter communications, and recurring support for technology decisions.

Across a decade, our role connected ongoing digital delivery with the Commission’s changing information and operational needs.
